So the other day I was walking on campus and I saw this girl wearing a skirt with leggings underneath, and I thought about how much I hate that. I also hate pointy-toed high heels and not getting any mail ever. I hate being too hot or too cold and I hate it when my favourite song on a CD is the only one that skips. I hate hurting other people's feelings, even unintentionally. I hate it when people don't use their turn signals. I hate it when people I have known for years still can't spell/pronounce my last name. I hate buying pants that already have holes in them.
However, I do love vacuuming and the feel of the sun on my face and when they light up the Y on the side of the mountain during homecoming and graduation. I love the fog machine and being able to say hi to people on campus that I know. I love compliments and chocolate chip cookies. I love watching movies and seeing other people happy because of something I have done. I love throwing a good party, or even just going to a good party. I love meeting new people and having new experiences.

Random things
I have a few things that I have been thinking about lately. One is that I recently watched the entire series of 'Prison Break' on DVD. I didn't think I would like it, and it wasn't until I watched the first episode that I was hooked. I really like the moral issues it brings up, and also I like that it shows that no matter where you are in life you can meet good people - even in jail. Not that I am planning on going to jail, but there are still some good people there. There are bad ones too, you just have to know how to idnetify which are which. But how can you do that? It is almost impossible to tell from one meeting (or even several if the person is really clever) what a person is really like. If they want you to think they are a certain way, you will most likely gain that opinion of them no matter what.
That leads me to my second thought of the day (I know, two thoughts in one day is pushing it, but they sorta link together). Some friends and I are setting up a group date for Friday, and none of us are dating anyone right now so we all set each other up. It is definitely a large group date (there will be about 12 people there, maybe more) so it should be tons of fun. The thing is that having lived in my culture as long as I have (I am a Mormon and I go to BYU) I know what guys are looking for. I could easily pretend to be the perfect little Susie-homemaker who loves to cook and have kids and wants to be a stay at home mom etc etc. It isn't that I don't want those things, but I am not as sweet as sugar like some girls are and I don't really want to be. So I would never pretend to be 'that girl' even though I easily could. The thing is, knowing I could do so so easily, means that obviously he could do so quite easily as well. So how do I know that he is being genuine? Especially because only one other person who is going to be there knows him and I am sure this other person will be distracted with his own date, so he really could be whoever he wants to be.
It is like that Savage Garden song about how when you are on the telephone with someone you can be whoever you want to be. That can happen in real life too, not just on the phone. You are a little more constricted in real life because you can't say you are Madonna or something, but you can pretend to be anyone (like Dharma always did in 'Dharma and Greg'). So, I know I am being genuine (it takes too much energy to lie) but how do I know that everyone else is. Especially becuase I think sometimes people are being unintentionally dishonest. But does that make it okay? Or if your intentions are good (like so you don't hurt someones feelings) is it okay to lie? It is so hard to think you know someone and then find out you were totally wrong the whole time. It is hard enough because I think when we meet someone we put people into categories and so we fit people into these neat little categories, so we have ourselves to try to overcome, we don't need more misconceptions forced on us on top of that.
Well, I know this was a random post and I am not sure how much sense it makes to anyone reading it, but I had a few thoughts so I thought 'hey why not post them?'. I hope you made some sense of what I wrote.

Commentaries
So, I watched a movie last night on our in-apartment projector, and then I did what I always do, which is check out the special features. They of course had bloopers and deleted scenes and also commentaries. But this one had like 4 commentaries, one by the director alone, one by the director and producer, one by the director and some of the actors ... you get it. Anyway, I thought about this and I realized, I never actually ever watch the commentaries. And not only that, I don't know anyone who actually ever does. So why in the world do they insist on making 4 different ones for one movie?

I totally forgot this exsisted ...
So, I totally forgot that this blog existed until I was looking a friend's blog on the same website and thought - hey that looks familiar. So I searched for myself and 'surprise!' I had a blog on here. I am so dumb. Anyway, I will try not to forget this time and maybe, just maybe, something good will happen, like I will post thoughts and feelings and actual stuff. Wish me luck!

long time no blog ...
Well, it has been a long time since I last wrote something, but I have been boring so there was nothing to write. But, last Monday was my birthday - yes it was on Memorial day. That was interesting because being from Canada and all I haven't ever had a holiday on my b-day before, we have a long weekend the weekend before my b-day not the weekend of. So that was fun. My roommates invited everyone in our complex over for cake and ice cream, which was fun. Then on Monday my Aunt and Uncle were taking me to breakfast and when we got to the Denny's in Orem we walked in and my other Aunt and my cousing were sitting there as well, and so was my Mom, which was a shocker! I guess I deserved it though since I went to Canada and surprised her at the end of March. So that was fun. She was here for a few days, and since her b-day is 2 days after mine we celebrated both. It was nice. Now she is gone, but she is coming back in 3 weeks to pick me up to go home for my younger brothers High School graduation and the wedding of one of my best friends. That should be fun, but it is a lot of driving for my Mom. And with gas prices so high it is crazy, but oh well, it will be worth it. Anyway, I should go, those are all the updates on my life anyway. I hope that everyone is doing well and I will try to update sooner next time.

results of the deal ....
Well, basically I am a huge chicken - not to mention a procrastinator - and now he is gone and the deal is off and I didn't do it. I know I should have because it totally would have been worth it, but alak and alas I did not, so what do you do eh? I guess I will go on and just suffer with the consequences. So now finals are over and I get to work full time at my job - which is kinda boring. But I will suffer through it like I always do and make the best of my situation. Wish me luck!

final friday
Okay, so I am having the biggest dilemna ever! So, there is this guy that I am friends with that I also have a bit more interest in, but I don't want to do anything cause he is moving and I won't see him and I wouldn't do anything if he was staying either. But anyway, I was talking to my best friend/roommate the other day and she said she would pay me $20 to kiss him! I made the mistake of telling my boss this, and he said he would throw in $10 - then he told everyone at work and - well, let's just say the pot is up to $55! But the problem is I am a total chicken! I don't know what to do cause I am too scared, and I am scared to tell the guy about it because he might want to do it (which is scary) or he might not (which is scary). Bach! This is not the best thing to have to worry about right before finals.

test day
Okay, so today I have this huge test in my neuro class and I really really really don't want to study for it. That is so bad, considering that is my major and everything, and I really do like learning this stuff, but for some reason I just don't want to do it today. I am tempted to go in and take it without studying anymore, but I know that would be a bad idea, so I am just sitting here procrastinating - checking my e-mail every 10 minutes hoping someone will write me and adding to my blog so that I don't have to study - all the while thinking that I should be studying and still not having the motivation. But I realized I do that all the time, I will procrastinate something, but the whole time I am procrastinating I am thinking about what I should be doing instead. How frustrating. Oh well, I have only about 2 hours left before I have to go take it so I really should get to it. I just wanted to waste some time. Aaaaarrrrrgggggghhhhhh!

just starting ....
Okay, so basically I just started this blog so that I could comment on a posting left by my friend over at 'brucecanbeatyouup.blogspot.com' and then I was forced into starting one so I could comment. Grr! Oh well, I don't actually care, this just means I may not update very often. Who knows? I guess I will see won't I? Anyway, wish me luck .... heh .....
